CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY ON WATERFRONT PARK AND THE AMPHITHEATER AT FOREST LAKES!
We are excited to share that Forest Lakes will soon begin welcoming the community's first residents. And, the timing couldn't be better! Our development team has been hard at work laying the ground work for Waterfront Park and building the community amphitheater. Residents of Forest Lakes will enjoy stunning views of the national forest, Bristlecone Lake and the city lights from the new park and amphitheater.
Throughout history, amphitheaters have been gathering places for sporting events, performances and many other forms of entertainment. Ancient Roman amphitheaters were oval or circular in plan and included seating in tiers surrounding performance areas, much like an open-air stadium. Modern day amphitheaters are most commonly used for outdoor concerts, wedding settings, and casual gatherings. Waterfront Park is approximately 4-5 acres, with a play area of roughly 58' x 35'. The Amphitheater at Forest Lakes is a 36' octangular amenity situated along Forest Lakes Drive. When complete, it will seat nearly 120 people.
We look forward to sharing the progress of the spectacular amenities coming to Forest Lakes. If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please follow the progress on our Facebook Page or drop us an email at email@example.com.

The United States Air Force Academy reopened the portion of the Santa Fe Trail through the Academy last week.
Officials at the Air Force Academy reopened the six-mile stretch of the New Santa Fe Regional Trail running through the base to non-Defense Department ID card-holders June 6.
Col. Troy Dunn, commander of the 10th Air Base Wing, said senior officials understand the importance of the trail to the local communities, but must balance openness with safety and security.
"Only through an outstanding partnership with the County were we able to get here," Dunn said. "The support of El Paso County, the City of Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities is vital to the success of our mission. Together, we can ensure the Academy continues to accomplish its mission while minimizing the impact to our community."
Academy officials closed the trail in May 2015.
"We closed the trail to non-DOD ID card-holders due to security concerns, and it remained closed while El Paso County completed ground maintenance on the trail for public safety and could guarantee the trail was safe for pedestrian and cyclist traffic," Dunn said.
El Paso County is responsible for trail maintenance under an agreement with the Academy. The County completed trail maintenance and plans to make major repairs once it receives confirmation of Federal Emergency Management Agency funding, which County Commissioner Darryl Glenn said is expected soon.
"We continue to be thankful that the Air Force Academy allows this critical section of the New Santa Fe Regional Trail to pass through the Academy," Glenn said. "We also have appreciated the patience of trail users as we addressed both safety and security concerns."
Along with the trail maintenance, the County will lead efforts to organize a trail watch group to report suspicious activity or problems on the trail. Interested citizens are encouraged to visit elpasocountyparks.com for more information.
"The citizens who enjoy the trail on a regular basis and who have offered to be additional, consistent, watchful eyes on the trail show this community's commitment to our military partners in fulfilling their mission," said County Commissioner Peggy Littleton.

New Construction Near Palmer Lake and Monument:
Because our community has a lake and is one of the only new home communities west of I-25, we often field inquiries from people across the country and across the state who are not familiar with our location. So, we thought we would give a quick overview to those who aren't familiar.
Our Forest Lakes location offers the best of many worlds. We are only 40 minutes down I-25 from the Denver Tech Center (or DTC as some call it). The Tech Center houses many different employers, and is one of the largest employment centers in the state of Colorado.
Going south down I-25 leads you right to downtown Colorado Springs and not much further to some of the famous landmarks of the area (Pikes Peak, The Broadmoor, and The Garden of Gods). Downtown Colorado Springs features many shops and retail offerings with world-class dining and local microbrew beers.
Castle Rock is another popular place to visit. Located roughly 20 minutes north of Forest Lakes, Castle rock has the famed Castle Rock Outlet Shops, Castle Pines Golf Course, and its own charming views and vistas.
Finally, in addition to our two community lakes (Bristlecone Lake and Pinon Lake), Forest lakes is just minutes from Palmer Lake and Monument Lake, and with lakefront views in the development, you are always seconds from capturing a stunning view of mountains, lakes, and Colorado blue skies!

You asked. We listened! We have received several inquiries of late asking if we could publish a map or list showcasing the available lots in The Estates at Forest Lakes. We created a map that will make it easy to determine which lots are available, those that are builder-owned and available to build, and of course lots that are SOLD! As of the date of this post, The Estates at Forest Lakes has 18 SOLD lots, 8 Builder-owned available lots, and only 6 lots that are available to builders and individuals.
